The sunniest resort in the Alps. 250km of varied terrain and the famous 16km La Sarenne black run.
Alpe d'Huez gets more sun than almost any other major resort in the Alps — 300 days per year — which makes it exceptional for spring skiing. The terrain is genuinely varied, from confidence-building blues to the 16km La Sarenne mega-run and serious off-piste on the Pic Blanc glacier. The mountain faces south which means excellent snow quality in cold spells but some caution needed later in the season.
Per person per night — prices vary by season and booking lead time.
Alpe d'Huez works incredibly well in late March and April when snow is still excellent but prices drop 40% and the mountain is half empty. The south-facing aspect means it softens beautifully by 10am.
