Ibiza in the snow. Enormous ski area connecting to Samnaun in Switzerland, with world-famous opening and closing concerts.
Ischgl has a formula that works: exceptional high-altitude skiing from 2,320m to 2,872m, a lift pass that covers Switzerland's Samnaun duty-free zone (useful), and the loudest après-ski parties in the Alps. The opening concert in October and closing concert in April draw international stars — Elton John, Kylie, Robbie Williams have all played. Between the parties the skiing is genuinely excellent.
Per person per night — prices vary by season and booking lead time.
Buy your booze in Samnaun on the Swiss side — duty-free alcohol is significantly cheaper and you're entitled to bring a reasonable amount back across the border on skis. The Fimbatal valley run from the Swiss side is the best long cruise in the area.
