The largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere. 1,245 hectares, 47 lifts, and skiing in the middle of summer.
Perisher is the biggest ski resort in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere, comprising four interlinked resort areas (Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Mt Blue Cow and Guthega). The skiing season runs from June to October — midsummer in the UK — making it a genuinely unique July or August ski trip for those who can't wait for the Northern Hemisphere winter. The terrain suits beginners and intermediates, the snowpack is variable year to year, and the Skitube alpine railway from Bullocks Flat is unlike any ski access system in the world.
Per person per night — prices vary by season and booking lead time.
Book accommodation inside the park well in advance — Perisher accommodation sells out for July school holidays by March. The snowpack varies significantly year-to-year; follow the snow reports from June onwards and be prepared to adjust timing.
