Why ski Livigno?

Livigno is one of the best-kept secrets in Alpine skiing. Sitting at 1,816m on the Swiss border, it has a duty-free status (genuinely much cheaper alcohol, fuel and electronics), Italian prices for food and accommodation, reliable snow from its altitude, and a surprising 115km of decent skiing including some excellent snowpark terrain. It's not for experts seeking off-piste adventure, but as a value-for-money family or intermediate resort it's exceptional.

// Insider Knowledge

Livigno is 30 minutes from the Swiss border and not directly on any major route — the transfer from Bergamo is long and goes through a long tunnel. Fly into Bergamo (Ryanair hub), not Milan Malpensa or Linate, and pre-book a private transfer.
