Where skiing was invented. The Arlberg area has 305km of pistes, legendary off-piste and the wildest après in the Alps.
St Anton has two competing claims to fame — it's where modern downhill skiing was essentially invented by Hannes Schneider in the 1920s, and it has arguably the best après-ski in the Alps. The Krazy Kangaruh and MooserWirt are institutions. But beneath the party reputation lies genuinely exceptional skiing — the Arlberg area is vast, the off-piste legendary, and the Valluga at 2,811m offers some of the best expert terrain in Austria.

The Rendl mountain on the other side of the village is where locals go when the main mountain is busy. Better powder, shorter queues, and the après at the Rendlbeach is excellent without the MooserWirt chaos.
