Why ski Niseko United?

Niseko is a pilgrimage destination for powder skiers. Hokkaido's unique position — cold Siberian air mass picking up moisture as it crosses the Sea of Japan — produces snowfall of a consistency and lightness that simply doesn't exist in the Alps or Rockies. The mountain receives an average of 15 metres of snow per season. Four connected resorts (Grand Hirafu, Hanazono, Niseko Village and Annupuri) share a joint lift pass across 60 runs. Add the onsen culture and extraordinary Japanese food, and it's unlike any ski trip you'll take in Europe.

// Insider Knowledge

Hirafu village is the most developed with the best restaurants and nightlife. For powder days, ski Annupuri first — it faces the right direction to catch the best morning light powder. Always take a local guide for your first off-piste session; the mountain topography is unfamiliar and the tree wells are deep.
