Why ski Cortina d'Ampezzo?

Cortina d'Ampezzo is cinema — the Dolomite rock formations rising above the resort are so dramatically beautiful that the mountains have appeared in James Bond films and numerous advertisements. The skiing is intermediate-focused and genuinely excellent, the food is extraordinary (this is Italy — everything is), and the 2026 Winter Olympics are being partly hosted here. Not the biggest ski area but easily one of the most beautiful.
