Egypt — Cairo & Luxor
Egypt

The Pyramids are exactly as extraordinary as everyone says — and the Valley of the Kings is the bonus.

Middle East & North Africa

Why visit Egypt?

Standing in front of the Pyramids of Giza is one of the few travel experiences that genuinely lives up to the build-up. They are bigger than you expect. Older than you can process. And they exist in a city of 22 million people in a way that is completely disorienting. The Sphinx in the foreground, the Cairo skyline behind — nothing prepares you for the scale.

Upper Egypt — Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel — is where you come after the Pyramids. The Valley of the Kings contains 63 royal tombs. Karnak Temple is the largest religious structure ever built. A Nile cruise is one of the world's great slow journeys.
